For more than a decade, the Orange County Community Indicators report has tracked quality of life issues in Orange County including business climate, community health, education and public safety, and the natural environment. It is a collaborative project developed by the Children and Families Commission of Orange County, County of Orange, and Orange County Business Council.
The Community Indicators Report focuses on the fundamental attributes of a strong regional economy, such as workforce development, technology and innovation, closing educational achievement gaps, adequate housing, and a healthy nonprofit sector. By showing trends over time, the report provides a long-range context and a foundation for discussion of critical issues that will shape the future of Orange County.
The annual report on the Conditions of Children in Orange County was developed in 1993 to provide a comprehensive picture of the present condition of children in Orange County and to establish a baseline from which to measure future progress and track changing conditions. The 16th annual report includes 40 indicators that describe the status of Orange County’s children.
