Children's Health

Promoting Healthy Growth and Development

One of the Children and Families Commission’s steadfast convictions is that children learn best when they are healthy. Building a system of care specifically designed to meet the health needs and priorities of children under five, and creating multiple portals to provide care, is a critical Commission priority. Since fiscal year 2004, the majority of the Commission’s annual funding has been dedicated to supporting programs that develop or expand health services for young children.

The Commission supports the county health care system in several critical areas and has worked to address service gaps. For more about the programs the Commission supports, please visit here.
